For laptop, battery life are very important, it determine how mobility a laptop. After full charges, if battery able last for 4 to 5 hours, there will be no worry searching for power when at outside; else if battery only last less than an hour, bring along the charger is necessary, also needed always keep an eyes on remaining battery level.
Windows 10 now build in feature allow user having report about it battery.
Here the command
POWERCFG /BATTERYREPORT
For easy retrieve the report, in command prompts, myself first navigate to a directory name "wifi" in local C drive,
C:\wifi
Here will be my report output directory later on,
below is the example command and option
By default, generated report are output as HTML format
Example HTML report
Example XML output report
Both type of report actually display the same information, it first show your laptop details like model, bios build, operating system version... continue with battery info like manufacturer, serial number...
Important area to take note: Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity
For my example: Design Capacity = 58460 mWh, but Full Charge Capacity = 44755 mWh.
Well, when this battery first build in factory, it design to carry battery capacity 58460 mWh when fully charge. At this point when this post wrote, after 3 year from manufacturer date, it capacity remain 44755 mWh after full charge, able last for 3 hours without connect to power source.
There are other part of this report showing battery usage history, explorer it yourself and enjoy
