How to fix TeamViewer showing ‘Commercial Use Suspected’ alert

If you frequently using teamviewer software for remote control family member's computer or devices, and receive alert message Commercial Use Suspected, below few steps may help you. This tutorial is not bypass TeamViewer’s paid services. If you use it commercially, please pay! After installing TeamViewer and first connection to the network, program receives a unique identification number (ID). It allows you to perform a remote connection to your computer.TeamViewer ID is generated basing on several unique attributes of your computer:




  • MAC address of the network card



  • VolumeID of disk partition


  • Creation date of folder Program Files



  • In order to having a new TeamViewer ID, first, we need to terminate TeamViewer process, then delete its registry
  • For Windows x86, TeamViewer version [X], open regedit.exe, go to the branch HKLM\SOFTWARE\TeamViewer\Version[X] and delete DWORD value ClientID


  • For Windows x64, delete value ClientID from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TeamViewer\Version[X]


  • Check if the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TeamViewer exists and delete it


  • secondly, delete all temporary folder and files

  • Click Start then type %appdata% – now delete the TeamViewer folder


  • Click Start the type %temp% and delete the contents of this folder as well as the X:\Windows\temp folder


  • continue by, change MAC ID for both LAN and Wireless network interface card, myself using tool name : TMAC
    Final steps, restart computer, re-install TeamViewer, you will see a new unique TeamViewer Id assigned to your computer.
